Trustee passes on

We were very saddened to hear of the death of Neil Faulkner. He was an archeologist and historian of great breadth and political commitment. Primarily interested in Roman times, in 1996 he established an archeological dig at Sedgeford in North Norfolk where remains have been found spanning some 4,000 years. At the other extreme, he wrote A Marxist History of the World: From Neanderthals to Neoliberals (Pluto Press, 2013). In between were his research of the military campaigns of Lawrence of Arabia – Lawrence of Arabia's War (Yale University Press, 2016) – and A Visitor's Guide to the Ancient Olympics (Yale University Press, 2012) among other works.

We were proud to have had his support as a trustee of Lynx Theatre and Poetry and as a friend, and he will be sorely missed.

The photograph is of Jacqueline Mulhallen and Neil Faulkner on 14 March 2013.
